Everyone wants to have their site rank well in Google.

And why not? Not only can Google send you a boatload of free traffic – it’s also highly targeted, and it’s one of the best ways to drive business.

The problem is, that exact same ideal is shared with thousands of your direct competitors. This creates an environment where you’ll always be fighting, kicking and scratching to maintain your traffic – along with the ever present fear that your livelihood is only one “algorithm update” away from vanishing.

And that’s if you can even get ranked for any decent keyword, to begin with…

In fact, only the largest, most-established authority sites can reliably see consistent traffic from Google. And even then, their rankings fluctuate constantly – several times a day, in some cases.

The fact is – it’s getting harder and harder for the “little guy” to get any kind of meaningful web presence on the web these days.

Getting ranked in Google is almost impossible unless you’ve got a major promotional budget and some time on your hands to “wait” for your domain to become trusted (Google favors older domains). And advertising with pay-per-click ads isn’t affordable like it once was.

Search marketing has finally become what everyone feared it would – a game reserved for big business.

But what if there was still a way to legtiimately rank for keywords with tons of traffic?

And what if you could do this without having to spend months and even years building up an authority site to do so?

In fact – what if you could systematically create one-page minisites that could rapidly rank in the top 3 spots (consistently) for basically any keyword you target within a matter of a week or so?

Is this for real?

YES.

But not with Google.

It’s happening right now, as we speak, on MSN.com

Now – before you think it – yes, I know, MSN doesn’t have nearly the reach that Google does. But, it still does receive millions and millions of search users daily. After all – MSN is the default home-page for anyone who first uses Internet Explorer.

And, to put it in perspective, which would drive more traffic?

Occupying the #1 ranking for your most desirable keyword target on MSN?

Or occupying the #47 spot on page 5 of Google’s results?

Sadly, it’s actually more effort to make it to the 47th spot in Google than it is to literally dominate in MSN.

How does this work?

A legitimate search engine “loophole”

If you want to make money online, you have to build a mailing list. No matter what the sales pages say, the bottom line is you need to have someone to sell to in order to make sales. This is why there are so many free reports, eBooks, newsletters etc. online, to get your coveted email address and permission to send you offers.

If a mailing list is the key to making money on the internet, then why do some internet marketers still go for the quick affiliate sale? Possibly they are too focused on short term results, or they don’t know how to go about building a list.

We have all seen the claims of making huge money online, but how is that possible? The simple answer is with multiple mailing list and multiple subscribers. Let’s say over time you develop a list with 5000 people that have signed up and are looking for Internet business opportunities. You could then develop your own product, or decide to market someone else’s product to your list. If your profit is $20 per sale, and you convert 5%, you would make $5,000 for one sale. Now imagine that you could do that month after month with this built in customer base.

I know this example is simple, I know if you are not currently developing your list it may seem to be an impossible task. I also know that most of the internet marketing experts will tell you they make their money from their mailing list, and most have five or more lists.

Success leaves clues, the clue to making money on the internet is persistence and, like any other business, hard work. The benefit will come from the work if you persist, start building your list today, the long term benefits will more than pay for the effort.

One easy way to create a list is by Blogging on your niche of choice. You can create a Blog free in some cases, but it is best to self host your blog. Once you start putting valuable content into your Blog, on whatever topic you choose, people will read and sign up for your list. It may not happen overnight, but it will happen. I have used my Blog to create one of my lists, and based on my experience, list building is the best way to make money on the Internet yet.

OK. I made a booboo. And I gotta straighten this one out right now.

The URL I talked about for John is:

http://www.red-hot-copy.com

You MUST use the dashes. I forgot to list it that way and it sucks because someone else got credit they didn’t deserve.

If you didn’t read yesterday’s article, it’s a nify one. You can snag it by emailing:

redhot@aweber.com

This IS a prime example of why NOT to use dashes in URL’s. Like, who is gonna remember when they tell their friends?

John? Why don’t you get the guys or gals at redhotcopy.com to add an affiliate link over to red-hot-copy.com?

Maybe offer a free report like:

“How a Baywatch beauty left TV, picked up a pen and makes more money by noon than she did all week as a TV star!

“Who else wants to live the life of a movie star by sitting on their tush writing words even a monkey can understand?”

Gosh — maybe I’ve had too much coffee this morning already. Actually, it’s a good headline for another web site aimed at our little online market of non- corporate rabid buyers.

Speaking of my crack team called MILCERS …

All you MILCERS (milcers.com) reading this…hope you liked the war story about the cappuccino’s. Don’t you hate it when you go to a seminar and the coffee at the hotel tastes like water?

I’m doing a brand new inner circle site for MILCERS that’s gonna rock. ‘N part of it is going to be some good stuff on coffee…amongst the other oddball uniqunesses (that’s not a word…don’t use this one at school kids) I’ve wrapped up into MILCERS.

Whatever you sell, don’t bore people. And add your personality to it.

Boring = bad

In the case of MILCERS, in the newsletters, the new web site, articles, conference calls and so forth, I talk about my penchant for drinking coffee — which is actually based on scientific studies showing it increases creativity.

I talk about health and fitness — because you can’t write copy or create products if the arteries in your brain are clogged up with cholesterol gook.

And I talk about my passion — creating income streams and putting them on auto pilot. I have a challenge there because people think “everyone teaches that.”

And as soon as people think THAT, you’re a commodity. Here’s the formula:

commodity = few sales

Or stated more simply:

commodity = bad

But if you think everyone else teaches what I teach, ask ‘em how much time they work per day.

Me? I write an email most days now. That takes 20-30 min. I talk to Lisa 30 min. to 1 hour a day (I should keep it to 30 min. but I get carried away joking around about crazy stuff.)

That’s pretty much my work day. I drink lots of coffee and tea. I spend most of my days doing what I enjoy — reading.

People object, “Marlon, you can’t put income streams on auto pilot. Someone has to do the work.”

ANSWER: Yep, that’s right. Just not YOU! I talked to Bill Harrison (rtir.com) this weekend. He got my Digital Product Creation System in which I document ads and videos we used at different points to get freelancers to do stuff for us.

The thing is, Bill took this auto pilot concept to a new level by hiring a marketing coordinator. It’s a great auto-pilot kind of idea.

The reason is that repetitive marketing actions are b-o-r-i-n-g. And most entrepreneurs like coming up with ideas but not actually DOING them.

Sound familiar?

I’m gonna try to twist Bill’s arm and do an interview with him about this for my Gold MILCERS monthly audio.

The other thing that is required is constant creativity. If you come up with a good idea, others with no good idea will take your idea.

It’s kinda like your spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend. Or the reason people who don’t have stuff steal from those who do.

You can protect yourself with trademarks and patents. Or invent faster than they can steal. For someone to try to steal MILCERS away from me, they’re gonna have to lie.

‘Cause MILCERS is about the “brain, lifestyle and money systems of yours truly.”

How about YOU? Are you selling a commodity that is like what everyone else is selling?

Or have you put your own personality into it? Or at least made it unique and different from what everyone else and their dog is doing?

I apologize if I talked too much about MILCERS today. It’s on my mind ’cause we’re all jazzed about the new MILCERS site we’re just now starting to create.

It’ll be 2 weeks to a month before you see what I’m excited about. It’s a little like the “clone Marlon’s brain” site.

It’ll have travel, coffee, MILCERS articles, newsletters — and, of course, stuff about creating income streams and putting them on auto pilot.

If you aren’t a member, do it now!

Get the details

I’m in the middle of reading this book you may have heard of…

It’s called “The 4-Hour Workweek” and it’s written by a 30-year-old millionaire named Timothy Ferriss — and this sucker has been flying off the shelves from coast to coast.

The book’s philosophy essentially boils down to this…

If you manage your time, your goals, and your priorities effectively, it’s totally possible for you to generate a comfortable, full-time income working just 4 hours per week.

Goodbye trying to fit your social life around your 9-to-5 job, and hello freedom and prosperity!

Seriously though — who doesn’t want that? No wonder this book’s become an instant best-seller.

But since releasing it, Tim Ferriss has come under some serious fire from prominent entrepreneurs who are whining (let’s be honest) that designing your ‘ideal lifestyle’ of minimal work and maximum play is not that simple… that it takes YEARS of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears to make that happen.

But I beg to differ!

I’ve know many people who have started their own moneymaking Internet businesses from scratch. (In fact, I count myself among their number!)

And I can tell you this without a shadow of a doubt:

The success people like us have achieved did NOT come as a result of how much time we’ve spent working on our businesses, but what we’ve DONE with the time we’ve spent.

For example: Someone with clear, intentional goals and a step-by-step action plan will accomplish wayyyyy more in 60 minutes than someone who is mired in information overload and analysis paralysis will accomplish in 8 hours.

I’ve seen high school drop outs, retirees who are downright scared of computers, and even teenagers achieve *massive* success on the Internet ‘working’ as little as 4 hours per week… and in some cases, even less than that!

It’s possible — I’ve seen it, I’ve done it, and I’d like you to do it, too.
