Work from Home ideas come in all shapes and sizes, but some have a lot more potential than others, especially in these days of hard economic times

Basically, if you are looking for work from home ideas, the internet offers the most potential for anyone contemplating work from home ideas. However, in my recent experience, even though the online world keeps expanding at an exponential rate, many individuals don’t even consider it. Maybe it’s because all sorts of good ideas for a business concern the offline world, and not the internet? l doubt that somehow, and in fact believe that the best ideas and certainly the most creative one’s, appear regularly on the internet.

l think anyone in search of good ideas for a start up business should certainly consider the internet, irrespective of your online experience. Once, l was like this, until l took the bull by the horns and make the decision to become knowledgeable in using the internet to make money. And guess what? It’s certainly much easier than l first imagined. One you understand the basics, things get a lot easier as time passes. Because when you finanlly start making some money online, even if it’s less than $5 a day, it’s just a matter of doing the same in another niche, and so on.

The majority of people making money online are usually doing so with either Adsense or Affiliate Marketing. Or both!

(1) Making money with Adsense is a very simple and successful concept that the Big Google utilises with advertising. Adsense advertising is the small text adverts you see contextually displayed on many websites. These ads directly correlate to the content on the page, and the whole purpose of the exercise, as far as the site owner is concerned, is for as many people to click these ads as possible. This is because you, as the site owner, get paid a certain amount from Google for every time a person clicks on one of the text ads. How much each click is worth to you is dependent on the particular adsense ad, and how much advertisers want to pay for clicks to get people to visit their website. It varies considerably, but they pay anything from five cents a click up to around eighty bucks a click, for relatively expensive products such as auto insurance and other similar sectors.

Quite a few individuals have content sites online, whose sole purpose is to make money with adsense, and contrary to what many individuals think, its quite easy to do. For example, matters to do with health, Hypnosis, remedies, keep fit, cellphone ringtones and all sorts of popular gadgets are just some favorite niches, where all you have to do is keep adding more and more content with embedded adsense ads on the page. Once you build up the visitor count to your niche site, it’s a numbers game. Not all will click on an adsense ad, but a certain percentage will, so as time goes on and your adsense site matures, you will begin to move up the search rankings in Google. Meaning more and more potential visitors and more adsense clicks. This is perhaps an oversimplification of how the process can make you money, but nevertheless, its more or less what it is, as adsense is quite a basic concept.

The amount of money you will earn with this is dependent on many factors, but some guru’s claim to be earning thousands from their adsense empires. The possibilities to make money are endless.

(2) The basic concept of Affiliate Marketing, is similar to adsense in some ways, as all you are doing is putting yourself between the seller and buyer, and getting a commission for your trouble. With adsense you get paid for clicks, whereas with affiliate marketing, you earn a commission for any sales made after a visitor clicks on a link or banner on your site. Each one has both advantages and disadvantages. The only requirement for adsense, is that the content and related ads are related and contextual. Affiliate marketing requires a certain amount of preselling on your site to entice a person to click on a banner or link…and hopefully purchase something, if you are to earn something.

If l remember correctly, in 2008 over $40 Billion were exchanged between buyers and sellers in affiliate marketing on the internet. And despite recent economic turbulence, it’s predicted to grow substantially in the years ahead. Think what just a very small piece of that pie could do for your finances!

Whilst the explanations give you just the basics of how adsense and affiliate marketing work, they are very simple processes to implement, requiring just rudimentary knowledge. Sometimes, you don’t even need to have an online presence to promote affiliate products.
