What Is Your Melaleuca Marketing Strategy?

  • by Diane Voisley

Here’s another big lie circulating in MLMs, Melaleuca, Inc. included - the market is saturated. You might have heard it from a former distributor who’s looking for any reason that would explain his failure. In fact, you may have even heard it from your upline.

The truth is that the market can never be saturated. Forget the fact that McDonald’s or Starbucks appears at just about every street corner - they don’t know what market share or saturation is about. You and your one home based business has reached all the people you could ever reach. You’ve made all the sales that you could ever make and for that reason, you’re deciding to believe that real reason you’re not successful in Melaleuca is because the market is saturated.

How have you learned to sell your products? What has your Melaleuca upline told you? Have they instructed you to go distribute flyers on cars, post signs on telephone poles or takes ads out in the local newspaper or telephone books? Yikes!

When a distributor keeps using the same prospecting methods over and over, a reputation will begin to develop. Let me ask you this. With the current marketing strategy you’re using, what type of person is going to respond to your prospecting? How will they see your business - as a credible, professional business or as a home operation that’s here today and gone tomorrow?

Melaleuca, the Wellness Company is also famous for saying that everyone can do this. If everyone can really have the success they desire, then why can’t distributors tell clients that this is Melaleuca, Inc. and they are a network marketing business? What kind of business person “hides” what their business is really about? That’s not professional behavior. In fact, people who tend to hide or are vague about what they do usually are doing something shady or illegal. What a great first impression for both the prospect and the new distributor!

“The products are so good that they sell themselves!” This statement often goes hand in hand with the “sharing” approach used as a marketing strategy in the Melaleuca business and I want to tell you that this is no marketing strategy! If you’ve used these lines, you might already know what I’m talking about - they don’t work! Somehow, the product that was supposed to sell itself ended up going back in its box and into the trunk of your car as you left yet another home party without a sale! The Melaleuca oil products are good, but distributors are still needed so that prospects can see the real value of the product!

Change your marketing techniques! One of the quickest ways you can get your Melaleuca MLM distributorship back on track is to set up a website. A website is great because it is a direct sales machine that operates 24 / 7! You don’t even have to be online when prospects and leads start contacting you for more information. Your website can house things like product reviews, benefits and other information about the Melaleuca tea tree oil. You can even use an e-book as a give away for your prospective clientele. There’s no limit on what you can do with your direct sales machine!

Operating online is easy! You’ll have your links that point your prospects towards Melaleuca.com, but you’ll also have a way to contact them for a follow up. Here’s another benefit. A lot of the follow up takes the form of auto-responder e-mails so you’re not really following up until they are solidly “hooked” into your business!

You want to talk about success? If you’re in the Melaleuca home based business opportunity you should already know by now that there is no such thing as a saturated market - just an outdated way of marketing. Even Wal-Mart is changing their marketing slogan to keep up with the changes taking place in society. The idea of a saturated market is like saying that since everyone has a car or a cell phone, then I can’t possibly sell anymore and the market is too saturated. Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? The market is still wide open but you just need to update your marketing techniques.
